The construction of this was more challenging than I anticipated. This took about 3 hours of wall-clock time sorting out the different effects and grid design.  However, as compensation I have some decent elements here that will work nicely into other creations.  While I was finishing up on this one, I got my idea for at least one piece based on this theme.

Daffodil

 This week a story in a series of panels. I'm about 2 weeks ahead of the real ones here.  The shoots are only just now starting to poke out.

Winter's Edge

 

Inspiration came from an off ramp of the Garden State Parkway where the day's light drizzle made a thick mist rise from the snow. 

Started this one with a fixed palette and some small plotting as to where to put the trees.  Having a fixed palette helps me focus more on the use of the colors rather than picking them later on. Although, the initial plan had green in it, I felt it was finished without it.

Sun and Moon in Lace

 

Intricate overlapping circles, as seen in the opening of Stargate SG-1 brought me to this design.

Rappongi

After my girls played enough Dance Dance Revolution the song "Rappongi Evolved" became somethign we talked about the house. I did a little research (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roppongi) and discovered one of the origins of the place means "Six Trees"
